NLP And Humor

Humor has been a part of NLP work since the early days. In this story Steve Andreas, a fan of humor and NLP if there ever was one, tells you how that come to be.  He shows what is important for you and ways you can use humor to lighten your life and ease your work. Plus there’s a video example featuring Nick Kemp using the power of humor in his “Provocative Therapy” Nick uses

The Last Straw Threshold Pattern Video

Beginning in the 70’s Steve and Connirae Andreas started modeling and codifying NLP patterns. As common as it is today, in the 80’s they were the first to create video recordings as teaching tools for NLP. Over the decades of developing and refining some very advanced NLP patterns, a few of the recordings were lost. One of those lost recordings was of the “Last Straw” threshold pattern. Steve wanted to make this available again, and

Helping Your Body Heal

Another great guest post from one of our founders, Steve Andreas.  Steve and Connirae have developed numerous classic patterns in NLP.  Their processes are uniquely like this one: simple and simply powerful. This example is in the context of healing and improving health. It’s a great example of the power and ease of really elegant NLP. Like the first time with any NLP process, it’s best to start with a very simple example. Perhaps something

The Other Side Of Motivation Or Goals, Shmoals

One of the more popular requests we get is how to be “more motivated.” In the NLP model of “Metaprograms” motivation is described as an analog sorting. At one end you have what is labeled “away from” and at the other, “towards.” Many people, including a lot of  NLP “experts” are mistaken in thinking that motivation is digital (either/or) and deluded in proselytizing that “away from” motivation is bad, and only “towards” motivation is good.

Navy SEAL Mental Toughness Training

This is about using NLP to control stress reactions, and I’m going to use new research from our toughest military training as an example of what’s possible. Our U.S. Navy SEALs have the reputation of being the best commandos ever created. A Navy SEAL is someone who has survived the most challenging military training in the world. SEAL stands for Sea, Air, and Land fighting, and these guys do it all, from swimming underwater to

How To Do NLP On Yourself

1459 words, average reading time 5.8 minutes Greetings! There is a dirty little secret in the NLP world. And it’s this: No matter how much you know, it’s VERY difficult to do real work on yourself. We all know this. There’s even a saying about it: “Doing NLP on yourself is like playing tennis alone. You can do it, but it’s very slow.” The Problem Is That You Can’t Be In Two Places At Once.

A Fern Named Lazarus

I have an asparagus fern named Lazarus. Why did I name him Lazarus? I’ll tell you why. I named him Lazarus because when I first got him for my batchelor apartment I was sometimes a neglectful caretaker. I got the plant so there would be something alive in my apartment besides me. It came in a small green plastic pot about the size of a coffee mug and cost two dollars. It was a little
